You really are magical. Driving onto Lofoten is like driving through a post card. Majestic snow-sprinkled mountains rise straight up from crystal clear waters, white beaches and traditional fishing huts known as rorbu line the shore. Mountains, waterfalls, lakes, beaches, blueberry filled forests, cloudberry sprinkled moors – Lofoten has it all.
Austvågøya is also notably home to Lofoten’s most famous rock formation: Svolværgeita (the Goat of Svolvaer), a 100m+ granite pillar towering into the sky with two horns atop it calling to be climbed. There are also hikes aplenty – Fløya, Djevelporten and Vågakallen give immense views over the islands.
