The Croatian coastline seems to go on forever. Looking out from the main land, island is layered upon island and the sunsets keep you mesmerized, evening after evening. And the best place to watch the sunsets? From the crags! Lots of the climbing areas are up high above the coastal villages so ideal for wild camping and all with great ocean views. One of our favourites was Drašnice, a crag high on the Makarska riviera with long, athletic routes on yellow limestone.
N.B. go to Croatia in low season and you’ll find lots of half-empty harbours to park up on. Perfect for barbequeing whilst watching great sunsets! Also, in terms of clean beaches, Croatia is in a league of its own. Every beach we’ve passed has been spotless and the water crystal clear, perfect for morning and post-climb swims.
Drašnice – hello Croatia, land of never-ending coast
All those shaded of blue are unreal – *ENVY’ is the word of the day!
