Kondyli – pineapple palm trees & odd shoes
February 13, 2017 by Louise in climbing

Arriving to a place in the dark is always an adventure. Following advice from a fellow Austrian van dweller we met at Karathona beach, we headed for the secluded Kondyli beach just before dinner. On arrival, all we could see were the silhouettes of palm trees and a starry night sky. And all we could hear was the sound of the ocean gently lapping the beach. Morning brought smiles. We stood alone between pineapple shaped palm trees, overlooking yet another sheltered bay, fishermen bobbing about in their rickety boats in front of us. Just a 5minute walk from the beach is a mini crag with enough routes for a day’s play. Watch out for the prickly reeds!
