The Montserrat Ridge looks like something from a surrealist sketch book. Jagged here, softly rounded there, boulders teetering hundreds of meters in the air atop needle-like pillars of rock. It dominates the skyline with such authority one can’t help but to be drawn to it, as we were. Up high, clinging to the mountainside is the village of Montserrat whose intricately carved Benedictine monastery is worth wandering through before/after your climbing day.
