A trip here feels like a trip to the edge of the world. Drive along a giant ex-Soviet aircraft runway through an enormous blanket of forest and you’ll get to the hauntingly desolate but stunning Cape Kolka. Well worth the drive out.
NB van travelers: you’re allowed to park overnight at the Kolkasrags carpark, just a 5minute stroll from the sandy tip of the cape, on payment of the 1.50 Euro parking fee. Toilets are open all night and water (though stinks of sulphur), picnic tables and bins are also available.
Cape Kolka – edge of the world
Incredible! I have taken a mental note of this gem, must pay a visit one day! Actually reminds me of Vancouver Island, except for the beaches. See you guys soon!
