After arriving by ferry from Venice into Patras, we headed straight southwards along the coast of the Greek peninsula we’d heard so much about. Greece, wow. Breathtakingly rugged landscapes, olive groves as far as the eye can see and ancient ruins that seep history awaited us. Our drive along the winding Peloponnese roads took us through enchanting seaside villages (Kardamyli stood out as one of the quaintest), hidden pink pebbled beaches with aquamarine waters and over mountain passes sprinkled with snow. Locals informed us this was the coldest winter Greece has had since 1952…
